Bruriah: Truth, Myth, and the Construction of the Ideal Jewish Woman. Bruriah is one of the few women named in the Talmud. More interestingly, she is one of the only learned women mentioned. We will examine the stories told about her, and ask the question - who do the Rabbis see as the Ideal Woman? In 2016, is Bruriah a role model for the Modern Woman or a relic of the patriarchy?
